Z-Town
25 AI residents live their own lives on one 16 GB gaming GPU.
What is Z-Town?
A small 3D village where 25 AI residents live their own lives. They work for pay at the bakery, the farm and the clinic, buy bread, eat, sleep, ride the bus and decide who to talk to. Nobody scripts their day: every decision and every line they say comes from Z-Next, the language-model architecture we built from scratch.
Why one gaming GPU is enough
Z-Next has no KV cache that keeps growing with every word. Each resident carries a fixed-size memory state of about 5 MB. It stays the same size however long they live. The village has been running for about 100 village days (one village day is one real hour), and no resident has ever been wiped. Because memory doesn't grow with context, dozens of lives fit on a single 16 GB card.
What's next
- Visitors will soon be able to watch the village live and chat one-on-one with residents. What you write stays in your own chat; it never reaches the village or other visitors.
- Next on our list: nightly learning from what they live. We'll measure it and share the results.
